An Inside Look

FEBRUARY, 10TH 2018

This was the most stressful day of my entire life, the first scene with April(Daniela Cano) was shot on one day and we got to finish it in two hours but I regret not having stayed longer to re-record the scenes to have more options for the editing, many professionals repeat the takes until they got it right, but in this case I was just thinking, we need to do this right within the first take so I don't waste people time and that was wrong, I felt under pressure by trying to do a good job and because I had some "experience"(doing short films by myself and getting some feedback from reddit) but I failed really hard, like really... hard... sometimes I didn't even know what I was doing, but that's a good thing because I'm an amateur and I need to fail in order to grow up.

As a millennial we are used to the instantaneous gratification, and it's more about the learning process than the instantaneous success.

I wish this was the best thing in the world but it isn't, it's a beautiful imperfection.

I remember I was so frustrated when I film the limb of pain scenes, that I cried and I went to reddit to share about my frustration of not doing the things right but after finishing the edit, I was surprisingly pleased and I will always remember this feedback that I got.

Did you learn a lot? Then all the time and energy you spent doing this was worth it. Every time you make something, you learn more. It sucks and it's painful, but you learn, so the next time you're smarter, faster and better equipped the things are going to come up.

This,

Shut up my mind,

and I got to work,

Thank you stranger.
